World's Oldest Man
John Tinniswood is now the world's oldest living man at the age of 111. He is featured in the national press and TV, but strangely not on this website.
Why 'strangely'? Because he lives in Southport:

He retired in 1972!
Presumably with a great pension.
Makes me think I could be here for decades and decades.............

Blew my mind a bit when they said he was born the same year the Titanic sank.
Good on you sir. Here's hoping for continued good health.

Bet he's gone through some slippers and cardigans.
Perhaps he should give some tips for those of us who aren't near to retiring yet.

Yes well lived John! I hope I can match his achievement but, that means I have 25 years to go. A healthier diet and more exercise should do it.
Perhaps though, I’ll have to settle for being the oldest John on here.
Just be yourself, no one else is better qualified!!

He was born in Liverpool, but the article doesn't say when he came to Southport. It's just a guess, but I would think he came here on or after his retirement.
