As for Starmer "coaching" people re the Covid matter, clearly it doesn't matter what Rayner "knows" because YOU "know". All the more reassuring that the Chief Constable involved ran two separate, parallel investigations, and witnesses under caution, so the final decision was watertight.
If only they had been allowed to question by sending them a form, and giving them 30 days to consult a solicitor and their manager, before returning it. That would have got to the bottom of it.
The neighbours report she didn't live in her nominated PPR.
That further throws into question other declarations she made.
It's just more Labour Sleaze.
The Durham Miners Club quiz issue has not finished.

Wouldn't even pay a tenth of that apparently if she was liable for any Capital Gains Tax it would only amount to £1,500 anyway but that doesn't spoil the story after all corruption is corruption!

The Tories made the mistake of dismissing an amount of money many consider significant.
Angela's problem is the amount of time she called for investigations and declarations from others, yet now the boot is on the other foot.
Not least driven by those who have had her asking for publication of their tax affairs
It won't go away now the other evidence has been unearthed.
Starmers statement has not helped her.

Will be interesting to see that if Angela has her prize of government whipped from her hands on the home straight she keep's her mouth shut.
She has some famous incidents of loose lips under her kilt already.
Starmer the liars carefully crafted response left an open door for her to be pursued by the investigative journalists and she is bright enough to see it.
The ex head of the CPS hasn't read her "report" why just has to keep feeding the wolves.
"I have read it and I am entirely sure it clears her of all wrongdoing" would have helped put it to bed so much better.
Shame if she does go she at least adds "colour" and a different approach.

AR
Such a contradiction!
https://www.angelarayner.co.uk/about/
"About me"
Written in the third person apart from one paragraph.
Cannot see or acknowledge the fact she was given many 'privileges' not available to young people today.
Perhaps the scrutiny over the Council house sale is more to do with her present Gov responsibility which includes housing.

She doesn't have any Government responsibility yet.

Interesting backstory to this issue.
Seems the allegations come from a book: Red Queen? The Unauthorised Biography of Angela Rayner.
Written by Tory peer Lord Ashcroft. The same chap responsible for a crusade against Cameron resulting in the 'pig gate' scandal. The same chap who has enjoyed non-dom tax status with a residence in Belize.
So a balanced, well researched book? Not according to the author himself.
As one journalist put it:
It is a bit rich that Ashcroft, who promised to give up his non-dom status when William Hague nominated him for a peerage, but who appears to have maintained his domicile in Belize ever since, should criticise someone else’s tax arrangements. And it is absurd to suggest that there is an equivalence between someone such as Rayner not realising that she might have been liable for possibly £1,500 in tax, and Nadhim Zahawi, who paid an estimated £4.8m tax bill while he was chancellor, including a penalty.
As I said, it's an election year. Combined with the abject snobbery of those who look at Rayner, hear her accent, and have decided she has no right to be in the position she is.
So it's an exercise is desperate dirt-digging. Of course if Rayner owes £1.5k to the taxman, she should pay it. Not a shred of doubt about it. The matter should be pursued, any wrongdoing should be punished.
It just strikes me as odd that once this issue had been raised, why wouldn't she just pay it?

I do not agree with this personal hounding of AR.
Should have been dealt with earlier by the Labour Party privately.
It puts too much pressure on the person concerned to dig themselves in a hole creating intolerable stress.
For me as a voter I should be allowed to point out political hypocrisy without the politician's career and health being put on the line.

Probably the perfect person to know a dodge when he sees it but Angela did run something of a campaign as below;
It also emerged that Ms Rayner had written to Amanda Milling, the then Tory chairman, in 2021, during the Hartlepool by-election campaign, regarding a Tory candidate’s husband spending time in the Cayman Islands.
She wrote: “I am writing to you for the second time in a matter of days to raise serious concerns about the Conservative Party’s campaign in the Hartlepool by-election.
“It is being reported that your candidate Jill Mortimer spent time living in a tax haven where her former husband worked as a banker. Mrs Mortimer had already admitted she has not ‘spent a lot of time’ in Hartlepool.”
She then asked a series of questions for Mr and Mrs Mortimer to answer about their finances.
“Did they gain any tax advantage from living there – and did she or he advise others of the tax advantages of setting up or living in the Cayman Islands?
“In the interests of transparency, will you now publish a full account of Jill Mortimer’s time in the Cayman Islands? Will you also order Jill Mortimer to publish in full her tax returns covering that period?
C&P
So its inevitable she would be on the receiving end if something did occur.
As I keep saying Sir Beir coming out with I have read her report and she is clear would have helped put this to bed but he made a point of saying he hadn't read it.
She isn't my cup of tea but a lot of people will relate to her as being "one of them" and on their side.

Yes she is a politician but even as deputy leader of the main opposition party, she has no power and is only paid an MP's salary.
