He talks of protecting her privacy yet what better way than just the expert reading it himself not his assistants.

The Police have already looked into this matter once and decided there’s no case to answer.
The move to “reassess” a decision not to launch an investigation earlier this month was confirmed by Greater Manchester police (GMP) on Wednesday after a complaint by the Conservative MP James Daly about the force’s handling of the issue.
All smells like a bit of desperation from a party facing total annihilation at the next election.
Meanwhile, we’ve had a Tory donor saying he hates black women, a Tory MP giving out numbers of all his colleagues, another MP being caught taking bribes and the party is in for an almighty pasting at the next election.

All a waste of column inches. If it turns out she owed £1500 in capital gains tax, I'm pretty sure someone would have had a word with her by now.

The Tories will desperately pick at any thread they might see dangling in an election year. Labour will do the same to the Tories. Expect another 'Rishi is too rich to know how to use a debit card' story soon.

It's an opportunity to mock the other side, but let's not pretend anyone is taking it seriously.

Thankfully no one is lowering themselves to defend Starmer who could have put the story if not to bed but firmly under water by simply standing by the report she had done after reading it and saying it clears her completely.


It is clearly not a non-story as why would Angela have a report done?


Her neighbours have come out against her and the paperwork and social media posts at least give some questions to answer.

If a Tory had done it the media would be in frenzy and if Boris had done it would be deafening*

Perhaps Labour sleaze is the next story there is plenty of it.

Can anyone tell me why her neighbours would be especially placed to comment on her tax affairs?

As for Starmer "coaching" people re the Covid matter, clearly it doesn't matter what Rayner "knows" because YOU "know". All the more reassuring that the Chief Constable involved ran two separate, parallel investigations, and witnesses under caution, so the final decision was watertight.

If only they had been allowed to question by sending them a form, and giving them 30 days to consult a solicitor and their manager, before returning it. That would have got to the bottom of it.

Great news.

If Rayner pays up it would cover the cost of Michelle Donelan's compensation and legal bills payment , for her foolish and unnecessary slander a few weeks ago, which turns out to have cost US £34,000.
