The vast majority of motorists totally ignore many Highway Code directives!

Nothing is BS it’s long sussed and old now. You are simply not clever enough to get away with it, you keep giving yourself away not just by saying things and then tripping yourself up, then lying, then posting doctored photocopies when you could have just posted the original but you have the sad impression you are fooling everyone when on close inspection of these accounts and posts only supporting you posting on average 29 times in 20 yrs oooh it’s blatant and only a fool would think he is getting away with it.

It’s not just me that’s saying it and has sussed you is it tho, this hierarchy is just a meaningless word for a low level road user in fact all it means is you are first in the queue at A/E if you are foolish enough to ride as you think you can and the big difference as always is that you are not accountable for causing accidents with the everyday tricks that WE ALL see cyclists do . And at least we don’t smell like egg sandwiches when we arrive at our destination fresh as a daisy and not sweaty arsed.

Oh dear! Talk about living in your own fantasy land! The Highway Code's description of the hierarchy rules are oh so clear! And, don't forget, BY LAW drivers MUST be familiar with the contents of a Highway Code. Heaven only knows how hard the law would come down on you if you knocked a pedestrian down when turning at a junction. But, it would be ten times worse if you admitted - like you would have to - that you ignored 1 ) the hierarchy rule and 2) also ignored the rule concerning giving way to pedestrians crossing/or about to cross. Finally, and I have asked this question before: "If you knocked a pedestrian when turning at a junction, what would be your defence? BTW if you do reply, please answer the question and try to say something relevant and sensible! )

When turning left at a junction, give way to pedestrians. Just imagine stopping halfway through a right turn to give way to walkers.

Put simply, the changes to the Highway Code are BAD law. They were put in place to remove the obligation which ensured pedestrians understood the previous laws within the Highway Code - which meant all pedestrians had to obey the rules of the road.

It used to mean the Government had to pay for public information films and locally-based training for youngsters to ensure they were safe anywhere near a road.

The idiots who are soon to be ousted from their comfortable ivory towers decided it would be easier to just defer responsibility to drivers - who now have to be able stick to the Highway Code - AND - second-guess the intentions of the very many space cadets who stumble around our streets glued to their phones, or wearing noise-cancelling headphones.

Guess who will get the fines?? Yep - not the people who should be responsible for their OWN actions.

When you're no longer responsible for your own actions, it makes you capable of anything - and whoever is closest in a vehicle AND can't perceive what you''l do next - will end up paying the price. This is absolute madness; and tells you everything you need to know about the Government who made these changes.

Fyi, cyclists are included in the same HC rule...i.e. drivers mustn't turn across the path of a cyclist at junctions.
