The vast majority of motorists totally ignore many Highway Code directives!
!) not parking within 10m of a junction
2) when turning into a road at a junction, drivers should give way to pedestrians waiting to across the road, Now, this one is totally ignored. Indeed, since the rule came in two years ago, I have NEVER seen a driver obey this rule.
3) Drivers should always signal their intentions. Well, my experience is that most drivers don't seem to think that pedestrians need to know when they (drivers ) are turning.
4) Breaking the speed limit! Well, every time I get in a car, or in a taxi, I try to position myself so that I can observe the speed, and on virtually every occasion the speed limit is exceeded.
A crazy state of affairs.

Agree...Not to diminish the others, but Nr 2 in particular stands out. Seems motorists hope by ignoring the rule, it will just go away - duh!

What a pity you weren't in Seabank Rd at Bath St juncn about an hour and a half ago I was turning right into Bath St as the prom is closed a couple walking up to the junction I let them cross. I suppose pedestrians are as much in the dark as cyclists when it comes to knowing the Highway Code.

I wish you'd go away but unfortunately most people ignore you and you're still here.

Before I joined 'Q' (SGB), the conversation was completely one-sided.....motorists always right, bl**dy cyclists always wrong. My main reason for joining, then and now, was/is to introduce a bit of balance.

At some point a motorist is required to read the highway-code and cyclists never are perhaps both should have regular tests to prove competence.
It does seem crazy that you can pass a test and "forget the rest"
and quite a few motorists seem medically unfit with seemingly poor eyesight, how often do we see the low sun catch out lots of drivers with poor sight.
I have rarely seen a cyclist stopped for any offence as I suppose it's harder.

And with multiple usernames it's still one sided as you're always wrong.

When turning left at a junction, give way to pedestrians. Just imagine stopping halfway through a right turn to give way to walkers.
Just be yourself, no one else is better qualified!!

Only give way If the walkers are already crossing before the turn is made. The Highway Code is clear on this point.
"If a pedestrian has started to cross a road at a junction and a driver wants to turn into that road the pedestrian has priority and the driver should give way".(see Highway Code Rule 8)
