What if.....
The Legal system is under great pressure, it would appear that it is suffering from underfunding and a shortage of professional staff. Most often, trials are held with a single judge presiding. The result has been inconsistent sentencing, guilty people being let off their crimes, while innocent people are found guilty. There is insufficient time allocated to each hearing in a world where criminal activity is increasing dramatically.
What if we reached a point where the whole system collapses. How would you imagine a country that had no legal laws?

Sentencing is done to the guidelines, people being found guilty when innocent or 'being let off' is down to the jury's verdicts.

If a case gets to the High Courts, that is. There are a huge number of complaints about the legal services now - solicitors taking advantage and well overpricing, barristers taking short cuts, families being broken up, thieving care workers set free, fraudsters slap on the wrist....naive judges who don't recognise guile etc.,
