Southport Lecture Society Spring Programme starts 1st March 2014
The first talk of the Southport Lecture Society’s Spring Programme on Saturday 1st March 2014 will now be an illustrated presentation by Mr Keith Hick and is entitled ‘Railway Recollections Around Southport” – the evolution and history explaining why the Victorian bathing resort of Southport attracted five different railway companies. This should be quite topical in view of changes taking place to the rail system in the North West of England at present.
The talk starts at 7:30 pm, at the Friends Meeting House, Court Road, Southport. Everyone is welcome, the doors open at 7:00 pm, and admission is £1.50, just pay on the door. Complimentary tea & biscuits are served. For further information please ring 01704 546121, or email southportlecturesociety@gmail.com or visit www.southportlecturesociety.btck.co.uk
