Hi, It is a typical Air Ministry hat stand.
They were sold off by the Ministry for about £10-£20 each.

Today they are sort after by barbers shops .
In the condition your stand looks, I would think £50 would be a fair price.

Now if you new which air base the stand came from. Say for instance the base that the Lancasters bombers of 617 Squadron ,Barnes Wallis's bouncing bombs. RAF Scampton ...... it could be worth thousands.

It came out of an ex ministry house in Wiltshire if that’s any help in finding origin John.My friend bought an ex ministry of defence house when he moved down there to work for dyson technology, before he moved to Michigan,Detroit to work as an engineer in moulded plastic.Will ask him were he acquired it next time we speak.am going to rub it down and wax it, bring it back to life. Have got some period brass hooks for it. Thank you for all your advice.
