I thought you meant the other road accident at Windy Harbour Road this morning on first reading. Hope both those involved are OK.

UPDATE:
A van driver was arrested on suspicion of drug driving after an elderly woman was knocked down and seriously hurt.
The woman, in her 80s, was taken to hospital with a serious leg injury after being knocked over in Birkdale Village, Southport, this morning (October 22).
Police and paramedics were called at around 11.30am today and the road was closed between Alma Road and Welbeck Road for more than three hours as investigations were carried out.
A spokesman for Merseyside Police confirmed that a man from Clubmoor, Liverpool has been arrested and taken into custody. Lancs Live

I fail to see how 'Birkdale Village', the wording in my post, could possibly be interpreted as 'Windy Harbour Road', no matter how many readings!

The van in question (allegedly) was a DPD delivery van, emerging from the builders merchants round the back of the shops, accessed by a turning adjacent to the Barrel House micropub.
