British Car Drivers cannot be Fined for Speeding in the EU

Because certain agreements over the exchange of personal details have lapsed due to Brexit - British drivers cannot be fined for speeding on EU Roads - however, this goes both ways - EU drivers cannot be fined in the UK for the same offence.

Considering what I'd be driving, I doubt it could outrun many speedcops in a chase, but when I do I'll let you know.

Wrong - it's the protocols for the sharing of details which have changed, not the liability to be fined for the offence.
Motorists will almost certainly face 'on the spot' fines that will need to be settled at the roadside.

Correct EU Police Forces WILL enforce on the spot fines, you will soon find out where the nearest ATM is they'll take you there.

It is one of the reasons we joined the EU, the French had a habit of stopping every car with an UK plate.

No doubt by the time Boris gets around to sorting it we will have lost £millions.

EU Lorry drivers are processed very quickly through Magistrates Court for serious offences.

I remember a local company that had foreign drivers and British drivers and if one of the British drivers got photographed for speeding or going through the light a bit late and a fine arrived the company would tell the authorities that it was a Russian or polish driver that was driving and that they had left the company and gone back home, then they would dig out a past employee file and hand in their details in Russia or Poland or some far away place and they never got bothered again.

Nice move. It wasn't an Irish company was it?

True - it only applies to written fines, as MCN reports:

It also led the AA to warn UK motorists they were being treated like ‘cash cows’ by French officials who feared they could lose out when Britain left the EU.
It’s now been claimed that France wishes to negotiate a new agreement with Britain to allow fines to continue to be sent from one country to another, although no such arrangement has yet been made.
Bikers should also note that this situation only applies to speed cameras and the subsequent posting of fines to UK addresses. Riders and drivers will still face on-the-spot fines if they are speeding and stopped in person by the police."
