Its productivity was and is very low, and tax evasion was the norm. Yet it tried to fund state salaries and pensions from 50. Unsustainable.

During this time the EU and Germany in particular invested so much in Greece that they could not contemplate its collapse. Or if it had left the euro many billions would have been lost by those investors.

So collectively - and rightly- they told the Greek government it was time to act. Syriza immorally told the Greek people they had a choice , but they didn't . Syriza was elected and then had to accept the reality.

If you had lent someone a lot of money because he said he needed it to fix his house, pay off his debts, and so on, but then he spent it on a holiday, how would you feel? And if you then asked him to make some economies so he could start to repay you, but he said he and his wife had had a chat and decided not to, who would you feel?

The demonisation of the EU in relation to Greece is disgraceful.

Its an accurate analysis which is probably why you got so defensive.

If your friend and fellow EU member was in debt why would you load them up with arms they couldn't afford ?

Why when tensions are escalating between your EU friend Greece and Turkey are deliveries to Turkey made up almost one-third of all German arms exports (€770.8 million) with €242.8 million.

Doesn't sound a fine way to help your fellow EU member arm their enemy.

Followed your link, first (and last ) thing I read referred to 1800, how far back do you need to trawl looking for mud.

Anyway, not in love with the EU bosses at all, but absolutely zero trust in our own alleged boss, as this election campaign goes on he looks more and more shifty, shouts even more, answering questions is definitely not his forte.

Clearly too many think his bombastic manner denotes strength, for me he is shallow and unfit to lead anything more important than a flock of sheep, oh forgot, that's what he does.

In a recent interview with Assad - he said the very same thing. The EU is supporting terrorists. He also claimed that the people coming over to Europe claiming to be 'Syrian' are not Syrian people at all. Assad said that most of the 'Syrian' asylum seekers are moderates - but he said most certainly, not all of them are.

Not if you are in business like the EU is. One of the top exports from Greece was its olives. Guess who exports those olives to the rest of the world now? Would you believe it is the country that uses the EU as its engine - Germany??

It was Germany who arranged funding for Greece since Germany is in control of the Eurozone. Guess who will be left to help Greece out of its massive debts - it is planned by the IMF to organise all European members to pay into a fund for many years to come. Welcome Brexit!
