    Change of heart

EU citizens are being offered financial incentives to leave the UK, the Guardian has learned, months before the deadline to apply for settled status.
From 1 January EU citizens have quietly been added to the government’s voluntary returns scheme where financial support is offered as an encouragement to return to their country of origin.
Payments can include flights and up to £2,000 resettlement money. The scheme is designed to help some migrants in the UK to leave voluntarily.
People working to help vulnerable EU citizens in the UK said the offer of money to return home contradicted the government’s claim that it was doing everything it could to encourage people to register for settled status. The deadline for Europeans living in the UK to apply for the EU settlement scheme (EUSS) is 30 June.

I would not be surprised - except this time, supposedly, they can only get back in on the point system. Anyway, I am touting for a Barbadian passport - it is a bit drier over there.

From Nazi threats to government policy. Labour introduced it to deter Afghan asylum seekers in 2002, I believe. Only the BNP were far more generous. Although it appears to be a resurgence of an old policy.

In fact, it appears this country has adopted quite a few NF policies:

People coming into the Country from abroad are put in a hotel in isolation (Britannia ??) yet how many have crossed the Channel illegally no mention of them. I wonder how many have come in since the latest lockdown it doesn't seem to get reported, I bet the French are on the beaches waving them off.

How do you know who is British and who isn't by a name or 'signature'?

The Rev Brian Green looks an awful lot like David Cameron.

He does, doesn't he? Good to see our clergy fully embracing everyone. Well, with the right levels of melanin, anyway.
