The last thing I remember pondering on last before sleep is whether social distancing in this pandemic has reduced contact conditions rates of head lice pubic lice scabies etc?

I am relying on said to look it up as I cannot be arsicled.

Never had any of those at any time, I’m pleased to say.

HaHa! Tough! Because I cannot be bothered either - that is not the objective of social distancing anyway.

Oooh! Does that mean you got them regularly before that?

I had the Oxford vaccine yesterday - currently feel fine. I'm not in a priority group but I am volunteering to run a vaccine session at a local community centre for older people.

Criticise as much as you like about having to catch the bus to Wigan etc., but we've vaccinated more than the rest of Europe put together. It aint going to be perfect, but if we vaccinated at the rate that Germany or France have been doing, we wouldn't finish our 80+ group until Christmas - let alone the rest.

Had my first dose 27 Jan at Hoghton St. clinic. No after effects.
An excellent and efficient team of dedicated staff there; a credit to Southport and the NHS.

Good to hear, my wife and I have got our appointments at Hoghton St, heard only good things as to the team working in there.

On the downside, have heard of Hoghton St having unexpected spare capacity due to “no shows” or last minute cancellations, a number of people should be ashamed of themselves, if anyone objects to the injection, I think they are wrong, but their choice, making the appointment and not turning up is wrong and wasteful in every way.

If you have been told to self isolate or have tested positive recently for coronavirus that would be a good reason for a no show.

Sure, but let the vaccination centre know that you won’t be making your appointment as soon as possible, simply not turning up isn’t acceptable when every effort is being made to maximise the teams and vaccine.

Gosh, it seems that I was very lucky. I had my first vaccine on Dec 16th at Hoghton St Centre (a 5 minute walk from home) and my second on Jan 6th. It was very well organised and I had no side effects or discomfort whatsoever. I was so impressed I took the staff a big box of Celebrations chocs before Christmas.

According to the Southport covid 19 support group on Facebook, vaccination is available for the over 70s at Aintree Racecourse and Edge Hill Medical Centre Liverpool without having an invite letter or text

I think that is wrong, it is probably testing which is being done at Aintree and that is being restricted to Key Workers only now.

I don't think anyone can get the vaccine without an invitation.

A lucky few have got the vaccine early. Apparently if there's vaccine left over at the end of a session, or any 'no shows', they'll offer it to whoever can get there quickly.

I've no problem with that, as long as whoever is on the list gets theirs. Better to get us all covered, whether they are 40 or 80 year olds.

So if you're lucky, it might be days rather than weeks or months.
