Isn't he about a billion in debt?

I thought he owed around that much to Deutsche Bank, the only financial institution that will go anywhere near him.

And aren't they heavily involved with Russia?

As Pelosi said, all roads lead to Putin.

Trump owns and operates hundreds of limited liability companies. His business debt is estimated to be just over $1 billion. If any of the LLCs were to go under, Trump would only lose the amount he has invested in the LLC. However, with his stellar business reputation and credit rating , financial institutions wouldn't extend credit on $421 million worth of loans unless he personally guaranteed the loans. This means that if he can't repay the individual loans totalling $421 mil. when they become due, the creditors can force Trump into personal bankruptcy.

Deutsche Bank loans total $285 million. The other loans were from Ladder Capital. It's believed that Ladder extended credit to Trump because the Trump Organization's CFO has a son who is Ladder's executive director.

According to Forbes he's worth $2.1 Billion after a $1 Billion dollar drop this year, of course not as rich as many of the super successful business people that post on here but probably managing to keep food on the table

I don't think that anyone has disputed his wealth. He's pretty well leveraged, but with an asset portfolio of that size, he's still a wealthy man. He would appear to be wealthier still if his net worth was based on Trump's asset valuations! Forbes, on the other hand, can be totally relied upon to calculate a realistic value.

There's a tendency for people to see a high dollar value of debt, and think that it signifies a troubled business, which is not necessarily the case. Large companies finance projects/acquisitions with debt/equity, or debt alone. Their cost of capital is usually low. If the projected return on an investment exceeds the cost of debt, it makes more sense to finance it with debt.

Trump won't have a problem when the loans are due. Chances are the lenders will renew. If not he can sell off some assets. Some of his assets are dogs whose operating income (pre Covid) barely covers loan repayments and overheads. If he sells them off it will be at a loss, which is nothing new for Trump. It's happened before when he's been scrambling to raise capital. Some assets are very profitable, providing him with a good source of income which he probably wouldn't want to lose. Whatever he chooses to do, it won't break him.

He can put on a shift for his age. And he can manage to drink a glass of water, so that's an improvement already.

Wondering how fast Melania will be contacting divorce lawyers?

And what's going to happen to the other Melanias? That was a pretty niche gig

I wanted him to win for his commitment to zero tolerance on racism.
The fact his Vice President backs this up is a bonus.

Pressure seems to be growing on Trump to 'man up' and concede gracefully - G W Bush and Melania are amongst those telling him to stop sulking.

Meanwhile, he's now saying that 'thieves' stole the election. It would be insteresting to know how you can steal a vote.

His lawyers are now saying that there's 'no magic bullet' to get results overturned, which is escpecially true seeing as they have yet to provide any evidence. 'No magic bullet' is lawyer-speak for "It'll take a long time, cost a fortune, and won't produce any results".

You can certainly steal votes especially postal ones but he is p***ing into the wind without sound evidence on a scale that is more than de minimus

I have little doubt votes were "stolen" on both sides.

Voter fraud, particularly mail voting, is virtually non-existent. So is fraud by impersonation of another voter. Both of which the Trump camp is claiming. Now voter suppression is a different thing. Voters prevented from voting. I'd like to see that investigated. Another step to the orange buffoon wearing an orange jumpsuit.

Wiki: In April 2020, a 20-year voter fraud study by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology found the level of fraud "exceedingly rare" since it occurs only in "0.00006 percent" of instances nationally, and, in one state, "0.000004 percent — about five times less likely than getting hit by lightning in the United States."

I reckon she's had them on speed dial for years.
