Has anyone used duolingo or something similar for learning foreign languages? Was it resultative?

The best methods for learning a language are subjective. There are so many applications to learning languages now - it is whichever one you personally find the easiest to use. I could mention one, someone else may disagree. It would also depend on whether you are learning for interest or for a particular exam.

I've been using Duolingo for just over two weeks now - I wanted to learn a few simple phrases to be able to impress my company bosses on one of their visits to our office.
I do think the regular interaction (5-10 mins daily) works for me, and I can easily fit it in to my hectic schedule.
Maybe next year I'll be able to say ...
Guten Morgen! Hattest du eine schöne Reise? Kann ich dir ein Getränk holen? ... und ich habe eine Gehaltserhöhung bitte?

I’m now learning Spanish on this website and - yes, the result is fine. At first, I was a little bit specifically about online lessons. But when I managed to find a native speaker of Spanish giving lessons for a reasonable price, I was as happy as never. (Native speakers usually value themselves a lot and their pricing is very high). In fact, an online lesson is more convenient version of tradition class. You needn’t go anywhere, you can choose whatever time you like and so on. I highly recommend you to try learning foreign languages online!

Radio/Live-streaming
I found regularly listening to a radiostation transmitting in the appropriate language of an evening was very helpful....Catching new words by ear, then discovering their meaning in dictionary. A good way to extend vocabulary, pick up common turns of phrase and ensure accurate pronunciation.

I admire anyone who can learn a language, especially one like German where the sentence structure is different to English and so organised, for want of a better word, whereas English is more fluid. From my own experience I would offer a little bit of advice if you are going to impress your boss... there is a formal form of address used with strangers or anyone superior to you and Germans do take this sort of thing seriously, as I know to my cost.
