A while ago the National Trust took over the Lifeboat Road part of Formby woods and shore. NT get the car parking revenue now.

We have noticed driving to Formby on occasions that there is a mobile notice device alongside the Formby bypass, and on occasions when the Formby car parks are full, it says so and directs people to Ainsdale
( council car parking).

This system seems to work OK except that we have seen that when Formby is full ( eg on a warm Sunday) the redirection notice can be displayed for up to a week later.

We have told NT staff at Formby that this is happening, and they say they ask the council to switch it off but that doesn't happen.

Is this incompetence or a plot to redirect Formby traffic?
