An example of his sense of humour was quoted in one of today's tabloids.
This humour always took precedence over political correctness.
When he met Stephen Menary, an Army cadet blinded by an IRA bomb, the Queen asked how much sight he had retained? Philip interjected " not a lot, judging by the tie he's wearing".
Such spontaneous quips illustrated the sharpness of his mind.
A great man. May he rest in peace.

I think even Prince Philip would have approved of a quip from one poster after paying is respects to the Duke "A man of 99 years of age, the first person to die a natural death in over a year"

I'm afraid my odor detector went a bit awry when Prince Andrew was on TV today.

The whiners I was referring to were of course of the Oprah persuasion.

The Duke of Edinburgh gets no criticism from me and I think would have made great company.
