    New pub regulations

I’ve just been out to a pub. What’s your opinions. Weathers not on there side. Sun was out but still cold once got past 7.30ish. I hope it takes off. Landlords making a lot of effort. What you think.á

I think it's a recipe for new surge in infections. Looking at the footage on the news this morning, most appear to have put an optional centi in front of metre when applying social distancing rules.

I must say the illogicality of some is laughable, if it wasn’t serious, one town centre 2 ladies complaining there were too many people out and about, seemed to escape them that they were part of the problem, they were complaining about.

There was a sharp rise in Covid infections a week after Eat out help out was launched. Same could happen again.

I would have expected that the earliest date for opening up hospitality would have been the July deadline for all adults to have been offered a vaccine.

God only knows what it was actually like in shops, I have visions of 1970's 'January Sales'. Presumably the shops will be (or soon will be) operating like the Supermarkets - just keeping the doors clear and then let the scrum commence, I cannot envisage that the shops will have removed half of their racks and displays to enable the customers to distance.

A classic example of this is Home Bargains, rarely is there anybody on the door limiting numbers, once inside apart from the 1st aisle all the others are narrow, even worse when queuing as people shove past, lean over you to get passed or to get products off shelves.

    A BIG draw for some.
High street shops and designer brands selling their products directly to customers, often at a discounted price.

Orwell said "If there is hope, it lies in the proles." Whilst champagne socialists see diversity idealised at university, the common folk experience it first hand in their neighbour hoods.

Full of family groups and school age groups.

Hard to distance with groups of people.
Means if there is a one way system you are stuck behind people in a slow
    queue.
Parents unconcerned their children are bumping into strangers and touching stuff on the shelves.

I was stuck behind one mother on her mobile phone so long I asked if she would mind moving her family to the the left enough for me to pass them.
She replied "why"? just go past.
I pointed out the distance was only enough to squeeze past.
    Her reply?
"Why do you come shopping if your bothered about distancing"?

Definitely not sharp but debatable about increase.

We cannot reliably say whether this is true. One study estimates that it did cause extra Covid cases, but it is uncertain, and often misunderstood

It probably did. We just don’t know how much of an impact it did have.

“It is plausible that EOHO increased contact between people (the possibility of transmission via restaurants was acknowledged recently by Professor Jonathan Van-Tam) and this would therefore raise the likelihood of them spreading Covid.”
