    Nurses Strike

How can Nurses go on strike and still maintain professional standards?

Nurses have a duty to maintain the health safety of patients - to take part in a strike action infers that they place a greater importance on their own personal issues above that of the patient and is not professional.

Considering that nurses have far more benefits than any other public service employee - i.e. guaranteed enhanced pensions, car/petrol allowances, shop discounts, 35 days annual leave per year, longer if you have more than five years service, plus18 days parental leave per year for each child until the child reaches 18 years of age in addition to maternity and paternity leave, paid study leave, etc., plus overtime if required. The starting wages for a nurse are £25K with annual increments give depending on training and expertise, up to £105K https://www.nurses.co.uk/careers-hub/nursing-pay-guide/

Any pay rise given to the public sector, creates higher costs elsewhere creating a domino effect so that those in the private sector are forced to pay higher prices and who then are also forced to demand higher wages - and so the merry go round goes on and on.

Whilst your worrying about the public purse what about convincing some of your fellow freedom fighters to have a jab and reduce the workload of the said nurses.

Just because there is a huge lack of response to the vaccination program?

Sorry, I am not one of the herd. I am one of the 99.6% of the human individuals who are immune to the virus

    You hope.

Speaking to a nurse at weekend from Leyland. They currently have 60 cases in hospital. Way down on the peak thankfully. Of those 60 half haven't had the vaccine. Now you make think that's good for those that don't want the vaccine. But when you consider 86% of the adult population have had at least one dose of the vaccine,( the only low up take is in the 18-30's). Those figure don't look so bright. If it was like for like only 14% should have not had the vaccine. which is 8-9 people, not 30.

Hope you are still feeling confident.

Hey Pal, do you want to buy some shares in the Eiffel Tower? You can triple your investment in three years - you cannot miss such a fantastic opportunity! One thousand shares for a thousand quid! Don't listen to all those dunces who will tell you it is a sham - you will miss out bigtime. This offer will soon be repeated in every media outlet and every broadcast throughout the World - so it has got to be true. (Get the idea?)

We all get the idea... You're an idiot.

I've given you a real world none media example above of what's going on. I hate media coverage, especially news papers of just about everything. So like to ask people who are actually dealing with what ever I'm interested in.
I know several nurses Inc. my Niece who works in ICU in Reading. People who have zero to gain by lying to me. You can pretend all you like this is all one big scam, Some sort of new order. Fact is lots of people are very ill and many are dying. My own brother was extremely ill with coving March 2020, He has still not recovered and he wasn't even submitted to hospital.

I've kind of given up on those not willing to protect themselves and other in the process. Do what you want to do. Just don't go to hospital taking up vital beds when it kicks you in the balls.

Which hospital are you referring to? The nearest hospital to Leyland is Chorley and they have had one case admitted - according to the NHS figures for the whole of the North West for July 2021.

Cases? Are the number of people testing positive and if the patients just have Covid they are told to go home and sort it out themselves. Those who are given a bed in the hospital are suffering from other illnesses - but would have tested positive for Covid within the past thirty days.

If 86% of the population as you have claimed, have had the vaccination, then they have surpassed the percentage for herd immunity and they have no need to continue advertising for more people to take up the vaccination.

So we are all safe and sound by your own submission and everybody can relax now.

I'm unsure which hospital she works at, It was a parent of another child that was racing(swimming) with my daughter in Manchester.

I've not mentioned cases, That's all smoke and mirrors. Those that are in hospital are not all suffering from other conditions. that's just you making more crap up.

Yep 86% have had one vaccine, and somewhere in the 60's have had two. I'm quite happy for you not to have the vaccine, Personal choice, Just don't moan if it bites you in the arse.

Herd immunity only works if it's a cure, No one has claimed it's a cure, You can still get it and more to the point still pass it on. What it does is reduce symptoms.

Just for a few stat's. you appear like like stats.
    https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/details/healthcare

Currently in the U.K. we have 6034 people pretending to have covid 19

853 of them so desperate to prove they have it they have put themselves onto mechanical ventilation.

85 deaths today (Thursday), 91 yesterday and 131 the day before.

On a bright note, new cases are dropping, Although personally and this is only my thought is this is probably because school children are not testing twice a week so cases are being missed, mild cases that probably won't even be detected just on sight. I guess time will tell over the next few weeks if we get a spike as these kids mingle out of school and with family members.

11 Sept 2019 — In more detail, here's the full list of hospital numbers per district: Scotland 279, South West 138, London 134, South East 132,

    Any problem with that information?

OK There are 132 Hospitals in the South East of England - you will see from the following pages of the NHS figures for Covid that there has been less than one patient admitted to each hospital classed as Covid cases. Covid alone does not warrant a hospital bed - the patients would have been suffering from underlying diseases which would require a hospital bed. Anyone who had tested positive for Covid within the past thirty days is classed as a Covid case - whether they have got over it or not because the tests show up dead cells as much as the live cells (https://www.news-medical.net/news/20...positives.aspx)
If people are held in a hospital, it is because they have far more serious viruses.

Now you say a lot of people are dying from this Covid - and you do not read newspapers or watch television news etc., good. Do you happen to live near any undertakers/funeral business? Have you noticed how many extra hearses have been purchased to deal with this pandemic? Are the hearses coming and going all day non stop? Have you been to the local graveyard recently? Have you noticed how many funerals are taking place? Are they non stop too? Have you been to the chemist lately? The first symptom is a sore throat. Are the shelves empty of sore throat remedies? Have you been past the Hospital lately? Are the ambulances non stop bringing in patients all day long? The majority of people were wearing masks and distancing, weren't they? Then how is it that the number of cases of variant Covid was increasing alarmingly? You say that you have talked to nurses and medical staff? So have I, but I do not get the same response as you appear to have. Let's continue on...how many people have you seen staggering along the road about to collapse with Covid? How many motorists have collapsed at the wheel? Perhaps you will refuse to look at the national death figures for the whole of the UK as they could leave out entries perhaps - because the figure have not increased for the past five years in accordance with the increase in the population. Do you talk to other people in the neighbourhood - now be honest, has any one ever told you that they are suffering from Covid and they are going home to isolate or do the people tell you "I know someone who has had it...etc.," or "my sister's husband's brother's aunt has had it"

Have you any idea at all what a deadly pandemic appears like among the population? This pandemic has affected just 0.04% of the population. The plague affected almost 50% of the population, so great a number they had to bury the dead in mass graves.

OK! So there is this deadly pandemic going on - why have they practically closed all GP surgeries and made it so hard for people to get seen? Has the Hippocratic Oath disappeared too?

Would you honestly know that there was a pandemic if you had not been told about it? How would you have known? Why did the government decide to allow people to discard their masks and stop distancing on a certain date - do you think the virus was wise to this?

Just who is the idiot? Is it because some people question everything around them while others just follow everyone else because it is easier?

YES, the same problem we had in October last year when you used Interweave Textiles as your source for the number of hospitals in the UK. It's a company that sells textile products to hospitals, why on earth would you think they are the definitive source for this information? And have you forgotten that you were shot down in flames the last time?

Based on Interweave's figures, you claimed that there were 110 hospitals in the North West. gsgsgs and I checked and verified that there were 59 hospitals, one of which was independent. Post 141 on the following thread:

For a start off, if you got the number of hospitals from Interweave it will be incorrect.

I can't see any 'following pages of the NHS figures for Covid'. But based on the last time you used NHS numbers (on the same link above) to prove the same point, you've probably screwed it up this time as well.

The rest of your post is nonsense. There have been plenty of hospitalized Covid patients with no underlying conditions.

Now you say a lot of people are dying from this Covid - and you do not read newspapers or watch television news etc., good. Do you happen to live near any undertakers/funeral business? What an epic, vile and ludicrous diversion! Which includes, in supposed support of your argument, one of the daftest questions I've read:

I've heard that some people enjoy the pastime of train spotting, but 'new-hearse spotting' isn't a thing, Said!

You've been at this Covid conspiracy theory lark on the forum for near a year and a half now, wildly dropping your endless junk like an obsessed litter lout. But the final embarrassment for you has arrived with the recent discussions on the forum of the lab leak theory, which has re-emerged as the only credible Covid conspiracy theory - and which is also the only Covid conspiracy theory you've never once promoted! In current discussions of the lab leak theory the forum's number one conspiracy theorist has nothing to say and is conspicuous by their absence! Absent for obvious reasons... So, face it: as a conspiracy theorist or conspiracy analyst, -or whatever you want to call it- you're a proven failure.

Is it because some people question everything around them while others just follow everyone else because it is easier?

    lol,

    I rest my case..

You state there has been "a lack of response to the vaccine programme"

so I respond with real figures showing it's the most responded to ever.

So you go off at a tangent with the Eiffel Tower,

You have been trying to flog shares in your conspiracy theories for some time and if you are commission-based your going hungry.

You have tried C&P from scientific journals and failed miserably on the analysis.

You have tried making specious scientific claims littered with entirely made up numbers (99.6 Immunity).

So what next, will you be flogging wood-burning stoves with the eco-dunce?

    Do you two share medication?
