Mine wasn't a film star, it was the French singer, Francoise Hardy.

My first acquaintance with Ms Hardy was being played her records at school by an exchange teacher - a young female Parisian nicknamed 'the bird'- in a French class.

I enjoyed the music , but I'm afraid most of the lesson was taken up by boys repeatedly dropping pens and pencils on the floor, regardless of the bird's embarrassed consternation, in order to get a better view of her Gallic legs.

It was a boys' school and we were not aware of the Me Too movement.

    Sorry, Mademoiselle.

    Same as yours, those eyes!

I also loved Clint Eastwood in his Rowdy Yates days. Steve McQueen was another favourite.

Nowadays it's Boris Johnson. I know he's not a movie star, but he has amazing star quality. Drool, swoon...... Pass me my smelling salts.

I get Christopher Lee. I'm a fan of Christopher Walken for much the same reason. Donny Osmond was responsible for the mid slurp coffee spurt. He was far too sweet and sanitized, not at all what I expected from you

No, I still wonder what I was thinking. Then my Bay City Rollers phase, where my friends and I were just walking piles of tartan.

I put it down to hormones. I went through a Tom Baker phase when he was Doctor Who. Still can't figure what the heck that was about.

The heart wants what it wants, as I'm sure Eva Braun once said.

You're even worse than I thought. All this talk of the guys who used to turn your crank has me conjuring up some very strange images of what Mr McGinty looks like

It was David Soul for me. I was too young to watch Starsky & Hutch as it was on past my bedtime but I fell for him singing Silver Lady on Top of the Pops! I was 7.

As a teenager it was David Vanian of the Damned, so I'm following Toodles' path of sugary sweet to dark & mysterious!
I'm only happy when it rains....
