Money lost on toad hall and Sands. Don't give me the not viable option.
They throw carrots to companies ,no rates for 12 months to entice them in etc.
Plus many other buildings around Southport..
    Give me strength!
What has your reply got anything to do with the running of Pontins? Are you expecting the council to subsidise its upkeep or something?
You and your posts are getting very predictable and even more boring.

So poor people shouldn't expect basic hygiene and edible food?

Budget or not, mould filled rooms and botulism shouldn't be tolerated, whatever your bank account. The least you can expect is clean facilities, even if they aren't in the best state of repair.

I don't think people are too fussed about broken wardrobes or not having the comfiest beds, but they shouldn't have to put up with the stains of a thousand occupants either.

On two not entirely unrelated notes, I was walking past the back of the Prince of Wales this week when I heard a group of holidaymakers expressing their disgust at the state of it - inside and out. They were saying what a lovely hotel it once was, and how it had gone to rack and ruin.

Similarly the Royal Clifton, though that was more about the facilities they'd paid for not being open.

    I'm seeing a pattern here...

The Public Health and Trading Standards should be all over this company but for some reason they're not, could it be anything to do with the millions that they're picking up from housing immigrants, if this a policy to deter immigration and make them think that is as good as it gets it obviously not working.

    Steady on
These are the "four star hotels" Farage is so incensed about.

It happens that I had a friend in Environmental Health in Liverpool, and we discussed this topic. She said that most of their legislation related to 'housing'. There was much less that they could do about holiday lets...which were generally 'approved' by the Tourist dept. She said that there was a complaint about a famously cheap hotel in Liverpool (not one of Britannias), which still exists. It reached the desk of the Chief Trading Standards Officer, who wrote back to the complainant that they had got what they paid for...at the cheap price they paid they could not possibly expect a decent standard of accommodation without visible problems!

Poor Peggy got her yellow coat just as the place closed, every great British comedy ends in tears.

I did see some proposals for exactly that. A company wanted to buy the whole lot. However they couldn't get the money together...and Britannia bought the holiday park.

As I said it's skip money, so no you can't expect a wonderful place and that probably includes not sparkling clean, it all costs money.

Not all poor people or those looking for the cheapest are deserving.

I once had to take a family back to Blackpool by taxi,as their eldest child was caught holding a knife, and was seen cutting through the elastics on the trampolines, seen doing this by the security, and was also caught on the CCTV in the area, and they had only been at the site for a couple of hours, the family were constantly shouting at the eldest child from Ainsdale all the way back to where they lived, and I could'nt wait for them to get out,and clear my head on the way back to Southport...One of the joys of being an ex-private hire driver for the last 2+ years,as I definitely don't miss the job at all...
