I can see a lot of Pubs/restaurants /cafes/hairdressers/ B&B's and others who rely on regular customers not reopening due to financial losses during this time.

The rainbow symbol has reverted back to its original meaning of hope, it now again can proudly be used by all.

There could be winners and losers combined in one.

The belief that something like this could never happen to us.
That all nation's governments maintain a pandemic plan, along with a sufficient national stockpile of healthcare products and equipment that can quickly be deployed to areas that need it.
Immediate response to any new virus. Test, test, test... from day one. And contact trace.
No BS. Give us the straight facts. Nobody blames the government for the virus. We do blame governments for sugar coating the situation, and not reacting in a timely manner. And, worst of all, lying about it.

Hopefully we will have Governments that will look at 'Lessons Learned' rather than ones who only look at the bottom line and know the cost of everything and the value of nothing.

Not in this country, for at least four years.
Though governments have fallen before.

That will happen anyway. There was insufficient funding to the USA hospitals since investors had lost interest in any such pandemic arising - now there will be large investments for research into vaccines and necessary equipment - so all to the good!
Governments are seldom straight about anything - it is not the lies that bother me, but the reasoning for those lies.

I doubt whether any government, nor any member of it - has ever referred to past history and the errors that were made - for if they had done so, they would not repeat them as they do again and again.

True! There could be many closures - including cinemas and theatres, as well a many small businesses. I can visualise many people working from home over the next few years, reducing the traffic on the roads, reducing emissions and allowing offices to downsize.
There may be far more activity on the internet, due to working from home and there may be an increase in the number of services for cyber security firms. Video conferencing may become the normal activity. On line shopping may increase for companies like Amazon etc, and gaming providers may be more busy.
Many students have obtained lesson material from their computers during this virus - it could well be that much more home learning could be introduced cutting the need for teaching staff and regulating all lesson material.
Airline travel could cost a lot more with fewer airlines now, and those existing may even decide to cut the number of aircraft that they have. People could be encouraged to use public transport - which is said to mean public soon.

It depends what the final analysis on why some people became victims and not others and of course any link with cause and those with a higher mortality rate.
With hindsight hopefully the World will be better prepared for the next time.

I think they should start a national photo ID card scheme for care home workers. This could be organised by CQC.

I imagine that a life on the ocean wave won't appeal to many people in the future. It could well be the end of the cruise business. Norovirus, which has long been rife on cruise ships, was just a taste of things to come on those floating petri dishes.

Privatised hospitals operate on the market principle. Beds and the staff to service them are not provided if the beds are likely to remain empty. Every bed must be a revenue stream. This is why there are insufficient hospital beds for Covid-19 patients in the US, and this won't change in the future.

The equipment isn't a problem, the vaccine might be. Despite global research for a SARS vaccine, seventeen years on a vaccine still hasn't been developed. I believe that the same applies to a MERS vaccine.
