Commenting on Tuesday morning a Liverpool spokesperson said:

Liverpool Football Club would like to thank the players, staff, officials and supporters of Chelsea for their compassionate marking of the Hillsborough Anniversary during our fixture at the weekend.

As ever, the overwhelming majority of those present at Anfield ensured the occasion was a fitting tribute.

Regrettably however, a smoke device was thrown into the away section during the second half and we are actively working with Merseyside Police to investigate the matter.
Any person found to have committed this offence will be banned from our ground

No, Liverpool fans have a history of trying to blame anyone for their misdemeanors, you'd think with their track record they would keep a low profile.
On the 30th anniversary of Hillsborough you are ******* out of order.

From what I saw on TV, the minutes silence in remembrance of The Hillsborough victims was impeccably observed by both sets of supporters.

Yet it would appear that it was one of your own who disrespected the anniversary by throwing a pyrotechnic device into the away section, a stupid and dangerous thing to do.
Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience
