Totally oblivious to the fact that there's no such thing as a positive stereotype. A bit like Trump saying this: "Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day.”

Trump admired Jews because of the age old stereotypical belief that all Jews are good with money. Millions of people hate them for exactly the same thing. We're all individuals, not a homogeneous group.

It's very worrying that people still just accept such lazy, stupid stereotyping.

I'm sure that British Jews were reassured when Truss told them they were almost like British people. WTF was the woman thinking when she said: "So many Jewish values are Conservative values and British values too"? Divisive or what? But not in the way she intended. Her leadership campaign has been all dog-whistles to ageing, bigoted, 'it never did me any harm' nationalists who haven't actually got a clue what 'woke' means, they just know they don't like it. Because they are convinced it is an attack on the way of life they are entitled to, that doesn't actually exist and hasn't done since the 'Empire'.

They are stoking culture wars for all they are worth, such as announcing that Cecil Rhodes' plaque has been given protected status by Nadine Dorries, which will have elicited a collective sigh of relief from hard right and not-at-all-racist ToryKippers who weren't even aware there was a plaque, but now it's thankfully protected from the 'woke'.

Or Sunak's announcement that arts degrees are useless. Yes, those long-haired hippy layabouts spending time getting drunk / high while taking up valuable university time. Neoliberism - it has no value if it has no commercial value.

Beyond cliche.

Might be quite nice to hear how they intend to run the country for the next couple of years.

The label of "woke" is being used to evade debate. It is a blanket used to smother challenge.
Yes, some people have a tendency to dispute language rather than ideas. I know people who can't conjure up the appropriate language, but whose ideas and actions are sound; and others who know how to play the vocabulary but in actions and ideas are disreputable.
As for Johnson , not "Extreme right"...but happy to use the extreme right if it suited him. He doesn't care about ideas or principles, it is entirely about HIM.
I find it remarkable how many people want him back. He lied, cheated, failed to follow-through, condoned corruption, saw this country become a laughing-stock. Do they not see this??
