Stationary Cars on the Coast road
Between Weld rd and Pontins. Just seen 6 parked cars on the North bound Lane of the Coast Road and one Car on the South Bound lane. All at the side of the road with Hazard lights on. People in the area on the South bound side. No apparent signs of crash damage so i have no idea what is going on.
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms ... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants, they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

There's been fire engines and an ambulance on the golf course as well as a helicopter around this time.

Heard that a micro light has crashed into the Dunes with one fatality. If this is right it is a terrible tragedy.

I was out running through the sand dunes, beach side between Birkdale and Ainsdale when the police helicopter came over my head and looked like it landed on the costal road. By the time I got back to Birkdale the police had closed half the road, golf course side.
I hope there is no fatality. Very sad if true.

Merseyside Police last post stated the condition of the pilot was unknown although other reports are stating a fatality, must be awful for the family habing to read such reports.

Its hit the national news now, and someone has died. How very sad.
Last night I recall seeing a parachute with an engine on the back in the area of the crash. I often see the person along the sand dunes/ beach between Birkdale and Southport flying low.
I hope its not him/her. Very very sad.

Sad indeed! I was only up that way yesterday walking the dog and thinking what a beautiful, peaceful part of the country we live in and then a tragedy such as this happens.
Thoughts are with the friends and family of the man whosadly lost his life.

Why on the news page create 3 separate stories, surely you simply need to update the original article.
Very sad, R.I.P condolences to family and friends.

Very shortly after my original post I became aware of the reports of a crash. I don't know if i'd have seen something if I wasn't distracted by the potential hazards of oncoming cars over taking the parked cars on the road or the parked car on my side. I didn't want to add to the hazards.
I'm sure the details will come out over the next few weeks?

True - it would be awful if the family found out from the news - I would like to believe that they were informed before it was published.
