Staying in
This is driving me up the wall, I have to go out each day in the car, just down the seawall from Crossens to Woodvale & back. Love the red poll cows in the sand hills. I am so glad the I don't have young children & have to keep them entertained. And encourage them to do some school work.
How is everyone else coping?
How many have children at home?

Like everyone else, I guess! Fed up with all the unnecessary restrictions - so long as you keep away from people, I don't see the problem. Lots of DIY completed that I had been meaning to do for ages, so I had all the stuff I needed in. I have various hobbies but they do not seem so enjoyable when you are forced to use them to while away the time. I really cannot imagine just how difficult it must be if there are very energetic youngsters in the house - especially where people do not have gardens - it is so unnatural for them. I have heard of several mishaps when people working from home are engaged on video conferencing and young children are around. Still, as may be - guess we will look back on this time in the future and wonder how we all managed.

I've cleared out and organised the heck out of the garage, whipped the garden into the best shape it's been in for years and have spring cleaning the kitchen on the schedule for next week. I also have a few hobbies and decided to use the time to create another entry for the Sefton Open, if it ever gets going this year. So I have been keeping myself busy and trying to keep some sort of routine in my life. I live a fairly solitary life normally despite volunteering for several charities but have always felt that I needed to make an effort to go out as it can be all too easy to stay at home sometimes. So now that I can't go out I confess to feeling a little weepy at times. I count my blessings, enjoy more frequent conversations with the cats (who could give precisely no f*%*s), and catch up on all the recordings of TV programmes I hadn't got round to yet. I just hope it's all over before I start talking to the mop though!

Best hope 'Desert Region' doesn't read your post....he/she isn't even happy about people going out on a bike. Taking the car for a daily spin, may well send him/her apoplectic!
As for keeping a parked cars engine in good shape, i.e. by using it. I understand that running it stationary for 30 mins once a fortnight is enough to keep the battery etc in order.....Perhaps any car experts on here would care to comment on that?

Some people won't be told. Just noticed 3 adults and a teenager playing football on Meols Cop playing fields. What part of stay at home don't they understand ?

Maybe they are part of a family, who live/self-isolate together?
Football's a perfectly good way to exercise. Advantage over walking/jogging/family kickabouts etc on a playing-field, is far less proximity to the majority of the population who are exercising along our pavements.

No end of YouTube to amuse; …just viewed tiny Peacock spiders dancing to all time disco favourites —
"Stayin Alive",
NOTE: evidently, the female eats him, if she's not impressed!
"YMCA" and others.

Ha!Ha! So THAT is what you are doing while under self isolation! I did wonder.

Well now you have your car all cleaned and polished, standing on your drive - I do hope you have suitable theft protection on it as it will now look more attractive.

Kids have plenty school work to be getting on with. I'm working from home. I'm quite enjoying the slower pace of life and not spending money. The place has never been so clean and tidy.
I'm sure the novelty will wear off sometime though.
The regular Friday evening "what are we doing this weekend Dad?" question has become very easy to answer.
Going out for exercise in deserted roads and streets that are clean and peaceful is wonderful. Not having to encounter or deal with stupid people is priceless.
It really is a great opportunity to take stock of what and who really matters to you.

It is the kids I feel more sorry for. So full of energy and nowhere to use it up. It must be very frustrating for them and their parents alike.

I saw one child hanging from a first floor window from a nearby house recently. I wasn't sure if they were trying to escape from the absolute boredom of being in lock-down or just wanted to have a good look at the outside walls, instead of the inside ones.

Mine are coping fine. Out for a walk or cycle once a day. No reason why they can't exercise in the home as well to burn off energy.
But like I said weren't still at the novelty stage. It'll no doubt wear off with lighter nights and warmer weather

Grandson did his GCSE Maths last week, well Google did it for him, he said he only got enough right to pass so they wouldn't know!
