Irritating. Submitted a post earlier, then to find it hadn't, with nothing of the text retrievable. Not the first time that's happened, either.

So, the Trump supporter has to negotiate that high-wire act of regularly arguing that President Trump is not influential, while occasionally arguing that he is influential - often while discussing the same area of topic!
Nothing too surprising there as that's generally how people are when it comes to political discussion. That's how it is. It's just that with a defence of Trump, it becomes more glaring, with the need to argue that black is white and that white is black a noticeably regular feature.
I'm surprised to be reading that for Local black deaths matter so much, as I don't recall Local being so keen to trumpet that black lives matter.
I seem to remember a poster on this site regularly pointing out that the last UK General Election acted as a proxy referendum on Brexit. I think it's fair to say that for the American people this upcoming US Presidential Election will act as a judgement on President Trump's record re his duty to protect the American people and whether the serial liar was derelict in that duty.
Your right I'm one of those ghastly racists who believe all lives matter.
I was pointing out that blaming the current incumbent alone for the result of centuries of inequalities is illogical, he certainly should have a share but not all of the blame.
That for some makes me either a Trump fan or someone who doesn't follow the herd, take your pick.
Even now the election is Trump v Trump on most media and people affect their horror at his every utterance it's pathetic, he is the same ghastly person the Americans chose four years ago.
America has longstanding neglect and the poorer members of their nation are usually at the sharp end for "natural disasters" .

I believe people's lives matter, as well. On that, I'm not the first to notice the indifference bordering on callousness of some younger people regards their personal responsibility not to be spreading and thus potentially infecting (directly or at a remove) more at-risk, often elderly people with the virus. I'm reminded of the shameless ageism that was evident for years regards the EU referendum.

You were also continuing to find that to be the only factor in the US's death toll.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ahern won a landslide victory last week in New Zealand's Election, the first leader ever to win an outright majority there under the electoral system they adopted in the 1990s. Her victory has widely been seen as a victory for the handling and competence of her leadership re the pandemic.
But according to the criterion you measure by, it seems she deserves no credit.

Ok, I'll go with "Trump fan", seeing as you near-automatically defend and then double-down on defending virtually all of what he does and says, no matter how awful.
When you describe him as "insufferable", "emetic", "ghastly", etc, you do so not in regard to what he does or says - you're merely referring to his personal manner. But if he regards himself as near-perfect in word and deed as you see him, and indeed he does, then is he not entitled to be a bit vain and boastful?!

Yes, you're back to that again.
But mind how you go: as you're not a million miles away from advocating for Bernie Sanders as the solution.
