Never heard of this before but apparently it's been around for a while - a great app to have on your phone if you ever need to contact emergency services and you don't know (or would have difficulty communicating) your exact location ...

for anyone who's interested, next sunny day I'll be sitting down right here, in the middle of this aptly named location ... ///admiral.powers.large

Why would you not just give longitude and latitude?
Then anyone with a map can find you, not just those with the app.

Sure, there are apps on a phone which will tell you Lat/Long but if you are in the middle of an unfamiliar area and need to call for assistance, it's probably easier to relay three words during a phone conversation than Lat/Long...

E.g. my example of ///admiral.powers.large is, once identified, much easier to converse than the alternatives of 53°38'51.0"N 3°00'22.7"W or 53.647505, -3.006297

I'm not saying it should replace any existing systems ... but I do think, in some circumstances, it's an easy way to convey your exact location and at the same time less prone to potential error.

This is fine if you have a smart phone . . . . unfortunately I am still in the dinosaur age and use a bog standard cell phone with a small screen. It's great for phone calls and the odd text when I need it, but I have no use for a phone with an internet connection.

Small, ergonomic, battery lasted forever ... had a bad reputation for screen issues but I had no problems with mine... part-ex'd it on an upgrade, but wish I'd kept it as a spare.
