That the police aren't interested tells you everything about this nonsense.
Just do what most do OP and treat the decision to 'ban' entry to vehicles at either end of Queens Rd with the contempt it deserves by ignoring the signs. Same goes for the laughable 'no entry' at the Birkdale end of Talbot St.

The 'No Entry' is a Police jurisdiction as is parking causing an obstruction, otherwise other parking issues such as time and residents only issues are Council concerns.

Just think the cyclist wants all of Southport like Queens Road so all those invisible cyclists can fill their boots.

The problem with these London Centric policies such as bike lanes is their inflexibility for areas where they don't work and cause more harm than good.
Cycling is great, good exercise, and green as green when you don't impose often unused infrastructure on our crowded networks to do it.
The Netherlands traffic is a disaster and the perceived environmental benefits are a mirage perpetuated by short-thinkers.
Get on your bike it's a great spell of weather to enjoy but don't cause obstruction and consequential pollution to do it.

Spot on....Which is why it's Police and not Council staff, who periodically intercept miscreant cars at the Monument, that are guilty of running the No Entry into London St.

Just park up. If no-one can decide who is responsible for giving advice - the courts won't be able to either.

Queens Rd should have been made one way open to all traffic with parking on one side, a cycle lane in the middle and an unobstructed carriageway with Albert Rd the same in the other direction.

Thanks for identifying yourself
I look forward to getting your index number next time I have a few minutes
The no entry is the only measure that has slowed traffic coming from Aughton Road but we do know there are some drivers who think it doesn't apply to them.

If men can identify as woman and women can identify as a man and kids can identify as animals ( furries ) then I identify as a bicycle so I should be ok going down queens rd and London st . If everyone else is going to make it up as they go along why shouldn’t I ?. And if you get the time get my index number as-well but who ya gonna tell if the police and other authorities don’t care.

I think whatever the police say and whatever the council say you still can’t park on a bicycle lane if you like or agree with it or not even if you have a blue badge and that’s a certainty. Nobody cares or wants this nonesense and I dare say the police are sick to death of it but you will still have to suffer a ticket and pay the penalty as you will have been ticketed fair and square. Many still park on these lanes but they are at risk of fines like it or not, agree with it .. or not . Unless you are a bicycle like me .

You can if the white line is broken.

Which is why a splash of white paint often isn't enough to keep cars off them. and why, where necessary, you find plastic 'wands', bollards, rubber ducks - lol, sorry I meant blocks - and even concrete kerbs have to be deployed.
Of course, if 100% of motorists had always passed bikes with at least 1.5metres clearance (between tip of handlebar-end and edge of left wing-mirror) as they should - we'd never have needed any special stuff to keep riders safe. In other words, it's the motorists with their sloppy driving habits who are entirely to blame, not the humble cyclist - duh!
