Topsy Turvy isn't it? Those who are wealthy obtain their wealth from the less well off who sweat blood to work for a living in a patriotic manner. Then, those who are wealthy are given gongs for being patriotic.

What about those who are wealthy who haven't earn't an income from the sweat of others ?

What about the lazy less well off who are where they are because they don't want to work much if at all.

We all know people who have never done a good days work in their lives and are carried by their workmates or family.

I witnessed that at Southport Hospital this week some staff don't seem to have time to breathe whilst others need showing the door.

Never a truer word! Wonder how S. Ireland is going to manage with the UK out of the EU?

I feel that many TV "stars" are overpaid, but why the focus on Linaker?

Can I make a couple of suggestions, first of all bin the !!!*^*SUN, who would love the demise of the BBC.

Now who do you think is the driving force behind the incomes of TV people? give you a clue it isn't the BBC, all the commercial channels including SKY strive to take the top presenters from the BBC, how do they do that? obviously by paying lower salaries , how do think the likes of SKY outbid the BBC for many events particularly sporting events? simply by paying out more money.

Now who do think pays for all this? it's all those paying out exorbitant contracts to the likes of SKY, or alternatively those content to watch land based commercial TV where a half hour programme will hopefully have 20 mins content and remember we all pay for land based commercial TV whether we like it or not.

Linaker's salary is peanuts compared with US presenters salaries including SKY and remember only the BBC is forced to publish the top salaries of it's presenters, you have no idea just what the commercial channels pay and we all pay for them as well.

The Licence fee doesn't just fund the BBC it funds Channel 4, Foreign Language, Ethnic Minorirty programming on all channels and also various local radio projects.

Make the BBC a charitable status.
It already ticks the boxes on salary and sex abuse.

We go to India. You buy a Sky/TaTa box for your tv. It has a number on it. You go to the local shop and pay. We usually pay 500 rupees for 30 days. You watch TV. 2 days before the money runs out, a sign is on the TV screen stating you need to to up. If there is something special you want to watch, you can pay to watch it on your mobile. Stop paying and TV stops. We come home, 8 months later when we return, just pop to shop and pay and TV channels come back. Great system. Pay as You Go.

If you remove the BBC you won't have much to watch on Freeview to be honest. Nearly all the good programmes were made by the BBC.
Weather forecast for tonight: Dark. Continued dark overnight, with widely scattered light by morning.
