New parking enforcement cameras are now 'live' at Burscough's busy Ringtail Retail Park.

Contractors switched on the system on Friday afternoon with all car park users being limited to a strictly three hour only parking policy - although there is a period of grace while shoppers get used to the new arrangements.

What on earth are you likely to want to do for 3 hours there? It's a nice retail park but all are just quick visits, even a coffee in Booths or lunch in the chippy isn't likely to take 3 hours.

By the time you’ve got to the end of the checkout queue in B&M it could well be getting to 3 hours.

I wonder if the police have access to registration records / times for criminal enquiries.

Another ridiculous, sensationalist headline for what is now the norm for private car parks. Yes - that's PRIVATE car parks. They're there for patrons of the businesses who pay towards their upkeep - they're not public car parks.

If you're going to be there for over three hours, you're taking the p###.
