A young street preacher swapped the town centres of Ormskirk and Southport for a different mission field as he led Drummersdale Mission’s harvest festival on Sunday afternoon.

And Joe Kirby of Wigan was very impressed as the small church with a big heart in Scarisbrick collected bags and bags of fresh produce and tinned goods later donated to the Southport food bank at the resort’s Lakeside Church and the Methodist Care Home on Aughton Park Drive, Aughton.

Joe preached powerfully on reaping and sewing - an apt theme given Drummerdale's rural location; some 60 folk from local churches supported the meeting and enjoyed a hearty harvest supper after the service.
