More proof that pedestrianisation doesn’t work. Without vehicles passing you get no passing trade.
Seems it’s deemed safer to stop cars going anywhere near the shops but, delivery van and trucks and cyclists are allowed to access what is in reality a pavement.
How did the risk assessment deem that as safe?

Worst decision ever to pedestrianise Chapel Street! We have seen many well known stores leave our town due to many reasons, but most of all ease of shopping - parking being the main one. I made the trip down to Ocean Plaza today & discovered the new Shoezone store. 3 hours free parking, and also able to park right outside the shops, which is great for my disabled wife. Bigger shop & now selling a lot more quality shoes than the old Brantano store did. Well worth a visit!

Passing vehicles on Corporation Street, a cul-de-sac?

Or maybe just the fact Sports direct is just down the road.... Bigger, better stocked and cheaper.

Exactly. Whenever I ventured into Taskers I was completely underwhelmed with the choice. Nice looking store but not actually very much in there, nothing at all for kids.
