Hotel chains employ a huge number of service people. The work is easy to understand for people speaking any language - one only needs to be shown what to do! When a facility receives a low rating it means that the on site management are ineffectual. When a facility has a high turnover of staff - it means the distant management are incapable. This happens when companies are overstretched and unable to focus on individual venues. They also need to attract custom with additional services to improve footfall. Generally the smaller, independent Hotels offer far better service and cleanliness due to the fact that repeat custom is important to them.

It's no longer part of a chain though and is the only hotel this company currently owns.
