Work on restoring and repairing the spire and vestry roof of Halsall St Cuthberts Church is back on track after the original contractors went into voluntary administration.
Both are currently being renovated following damage discovered in 2013; the Church is a Grade 1 listed building and as such numerous permissions had to be sought before the repair work could start.
Said church treasurer Colin Throp: "We have been fortunate to be awarded a substantial grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund and have been fundraising for some time to meet the full costs of the repair.
"The work started in the summer and was progressing well although it did stall for a short time when the company who were contracted for the work went into voluntary administration.
"Thankfully it has been possible to transfer the contract to another company and work has now restarted.
"The timetable for completion will obviously be weather dependant but work is progressing relatively well at the moment," he added.
Funds are still needed and further information about how to donate online can be found on the Church website: www.halsallstcuthberthub.co.uk - scheme progress can be followed on the church's Facebook page.
