    Buses, NOT busses.

    Road Closures
    Times
    Lord Street no access northbound
    09:00 - 09:45 hours
    Marine Drive & Coastal Road
    08:30 - 13:00 hours

This could be very perplexing and highly inconvenient for visitors to the town centre by bus who do not know of it beforehand. Anyone aiming for an early visit in the vicinity of Chapel Street had best delay. Provided Lord Street traffic patterns revert promptly after 09:45, there will not be too many confused travellers. Presumably most visitors at that hour on a Sunday will be coming to view the event.

Plans to revitalize Lord Street including as an events venue seem likely to make disruption a recurring feature. An alternative 'cross town ' route apart from Lord Street and the Promenade would have been a constructive addition to the Town Deal proposals.

    A) Very likely. Day-trippers only start rolling into town around 10am, with the main flow arriving from 11am. 3pm to 4pm is 'crossover time', where the numbers leaving become greater than those arriving.

    B) Agree. A short link-road across the Manchester line (inc level-crossing) from London St roundabout to Virginia St would seem to be the most logical and cost effective choice. Although Network Rail are opposed to any new level-crossings and it would also require shortening a couple of sidings, a move which Merseyrail oppose.

Although there is some inconvenience to a limited number of people at that time on a Sunday morning, residents should support these events especially after more than a year of very difficult economic conditions. It will certainly bring some welcome revenue to local business.
