Yes your right haven't they had a long time to get to grips with the Guidance, a fundamental legal requirement for a Nursing home from the even older 2008 health and social care act.
None of this is or should be a surprise to a well run home.

Who is alleging that the Care Homes have not been following the Law, Guidance is only that, it is not a fundamental legal requirement.

There’s no excuse for not having one when they are Free, this easy and you want to visit relatives.
If I owned a care home I would book everyone in and take them in a mini bus with a couple of staff to help, especially if I had a military get things done mindset. you can even get a home test kit from them.
There are no tests tomorrow but some slots still available Monday and all next week.
Nothing to loose better to know than not know.
Results back now by txt 25 hours after the test and on a Sunday.
If that’s not a lightning service I don’t know what is .

Impressive. Now all we need is a working, effective track and trace system to be in place, a bit like the one we were promised would be up and running by the start of June.

Positive news is frowned on by the moansters on here they just want to blame the "guvvernment" for everything.
They are predictably the frustrated ones by and large.
The mass ranks of the eternal opposition.

I just thought it was a quick turn a round and just what is needed, I think the organisers and frontline staff of this deserve some credit they were extremely professional and quicker than you would have thought, they sent results by txt and by email and referenced to get involved in track and trace .
Well done to all at the Pop up park and ride test centre and the NHS.. outstanding.

The Care Homes are regularly inspected by the CQC to ensure that they are complying with the act.

Do you just google things until you catch up ?
You have come round after a mighty big detour to the fact that care homes have a legal duty to protect residents from infection.
Still at least it might stop you blaming the "guvvernment"
until the next thing.

Twas you that was going on about the Homes not being aware and the Government caused the Homes to be short on PPE by snaffling up all the supplies.
