Don't waste your Euro Elections vote
Veteran Southport journalist Martin Hovden writes: Like the Sefton Council elections earlier this month, there were no party activists outside the polling booth in Southport to tick off my details when I went to vote in today's European Elections.
And the first thing to hit you when you go into the polling booth is the length of the voting paper - there are 11 candidates to pick from.
Do take your time to read all the names and parties and then make your choice.
You have until 10pm to vote.
As some European countries won't be voting until Sunday, the UK results won't be announced until at least 9pm on Sunday (so no late night tonight).
Whatever your views, please don't waste your vote!

No monitors at mine either, I used to be annoyed at them asking for your voting number

I was down there at 7:15am with my Biro. Definitely voted along with the other 37% in the opinion polls! Hopefully, it'll be higher than that in the actual result.

The English Democratic Party - is viewed as a fringe Party on the far right. Accepts all as members but supporters must not be racist. The leader of this movement is Robin Tilbrook.
There is confusion with the the British Democratic Party which was established 2013 mainly BNP ex supporters, Freedom Party ex supporters, and ex-democratic supporters. It is a movement started by Andrew Brons, and MEP for the BNP in Yorkshire. He resigned from the BNP after a fall out with Nick Griffiths regarding the neo nazi take over of the BNP and the BDP is now run by interim leader Kevin Scott.

Took me ages to find a black pen to go to the Polling Station with. After studying the over long list of candidates, found what I wanted almost near the bottom of the page. Anyways - been there, done that and never got the T-shirt! Oh well. Fingers crossed - see what happens on Sunday. It could quite possibly be that all the Brexit votes would have got lost by then, if the EU has anything to do with it! Look out for a massive bonfire over Brussels??

Papers marked with anything other than pencil are classed as spoilt ballots.

I think you'll find that information is wrong.
From the Electoral Commsion Twitter feed....
Pencils are traditionally used in polling stations but there is no law that states you must cast your vote in pencil. You can use a pen if you prefer.

Only if a tinfoil hat is worn at the time the vote is cast.

Don't believe everything you read on Twitter.
Or take things written in jest seriously.

It will be going very quiet now, as only 20 - 25% turned out most people can't comment now as they didn't bother to turn out to vote.
