Southport will look to make it two cup wins in a week as they take on Farsley Celtic on Saturday afternoon.

Liam Watson’s side overcame Prescot Cables in the Liverpool Senior Cup on Tuesday night, and will now look to do the same this weekend in the Emirates FA Cup.

The Port have already overcome the Celt Army once this season, beating them 3-0 at the Citadel back in August.

David Morgan, Devarn Green and Raul Correia were all on target in the strong victory on the road.

Since then, Adam Lakeland’s newly promoted side have been in good form, winning six of their last eight league games.

The excellent performances, which includes 3-0 victories over Gateshead, Bradford (Park Avenue) and Leamington, has seen Farsley move up to fourth in the Vanarama National League North table.

Will Hayhurst, who bagged 13 goals last season, is the club’s current top scorer this campaign with four, and will need to be watched by the Port defence.

In order to get to this stage of the competition, Farsley overcame Runcorn Town in the last round, coming away 3-1 winners.

This isn’t the first time these two sides have come head to head in the FA Cup in recent times, with Watson’s side winning 3-0 in the second qualifying round in last year’s competition.

Watson will hope that his side can once again come away from Yorkshire with a victory and continue another cup run.

The FA Cup was a vital part of the Port good run of form throughout winter last season, and could be again.
