The Abbeyfield Neighbourhood project’s summer party held at Formby luncheon club on Friday 29th July proved to be a fun filled afternoon!
Folk enjoyed summer picnic themed food and blue lagoon and tequila sunrise cocktails while singing along to live music from the 'Ukulele Buddies'.
Jo Painter who runs the event said: "The project’s purpose is to help reconnect older people in the local community and to help to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation some people may be feeling.
"Our events are free to anyone who would like to come along and make new friends.
"It’s fantastic to see so many people together enjoying themselves and to receive positive feedback on what a difference these events make to those who attend’’.
The next event at the luncheon club will a Macmillan cancer support coffee afternoon held on Friday 30th September 2pm - 3.30pm.
