People can enjoy some stunning light shows in Southport this Halloween!

The spooktecular events takes place on Sidney Road in Southport from 6pm on Saturday, 30th October and from 5pm on Sunday, 31st October. The time difference between the two events is due to the clocks going back overnight on the Saturday.

They are being staged by local engineer Steve Henshall, who has designed and created his own Christmas lights displays over the past few years.

Steve said: “This is The Big One! Our Halloween Night Light Shows will be sponsored by Ed and Len of Southport Funeral Care and will raise funds for Freshfields Animal Rescue.

“To scare the pants off you we'll have bats, black cats, a cat with two tails, tombstones, a coffin, spiders, around 18,000 lights plus lots of smoke and fire.

“But the best bit is we'll be plying you with free hot dogs, soup, hot chocolate and tons of sweets all courtesy of Southport Funeral Care. Yes I did say FREE - we're asking for a donation to Freshfields Animal Rescue in return.

“Please be realistic when saying if you'll be coming as we want to get the catering right, it's no good the hot dogs running out just as you arrive!

“This was a very popular event last time so please come early. We'll run until at least two hours each night and later if there are still people around.”
