Following yesterday's cyber-attack
We are still experiencing difficulty with our clinical information systems. However, patient safety is being maintained.
It remains important for patients to use accident and emergency wisely and only attend if it is urgent or an emergency.
We are working hard to restore systems and we would like to reassure patients and the public that all patient information is safe, and will be available to our clinicians once the systems are back up and running.
Patients who are scheduled for surgery on Monday (15th May) are asked not to attend unless we contact you directly on Sunday.
A further update regarding outpatient appointments on Monday will be made tomorrow (Sunday).
We would like to thank all staff within the Trust and colleagues at partner organisations across the region for their continued support.

I think a little training and bottom kicking is needed on what pc's are used for , and how they should be looked after !

We can afford to renew Trident, but not our vital NHS systems? This is 100% a funding issue. We've risked using old insecure software due to cost.
Preston's NHS Trust for example have to take special measures when sending details to Southport, as Southport does not have up-to-date software.
This is what happens when you let the Conservatives run the NHS. ;)
