Passengers are advised that there is severe disruption on the Merseyrail network this morning due to a build-up of thick ice on the electrified rail, which is preventing power from reaching the trains.
There are no services running between Southport and Formby. Southport line passengers are advised to make their own way to Formby where services are running but are disrupted. Rail tickets will be valid on bus services for this.
Passengers travelling between Hooton and Chester and Ellesmere Port are advised to make their own way to Hooton station where services are running but are disrupted.
Ormskirk line passengers are advised there is a limited bus service running.
We expect that conditions may improve as the morning progresses and the air becomes warmer.
