Although the recent rise in crime across Merseyside is below the national average, MP Damien Moore remains vigilant about it in Southport. On Friday, he patrolled the streets with the Neighbourhood Policing Team.

'During my shift with PC Laura, we talked about the challenges of her job. We all know our police do great work in a difficult environment, but I wanted to see the things they face for myself.'

In February, Damien persuaded Merseyside Police to introduce 'knife wands' across the town.

'We need to be vigilant on crime if we are going to make Southport a success again.'

    He's at it again.

Damien Moore did not persuade Merseyside Police to introduce knife wands across the town in February... not least because Merseyside Police didn't fund them, the Sefton Safer Community Partnership did.

The decision was made in Feb after already being discussed for months before and it was nothing to do with Damien but was made by Sefton Cllr Trish Hardy as Chair of the SSCP and she's already admonished him for trying to grab credit for a decision he was not part of.

Shock! Horror! Labour councillorette selflessly "admonished" a political opponent and said she was a goody and he was a baddy. How jaw droppingly surprising.

Here we go again - at some point someone is bound to take their ball home with them and I fervently hope they all stay there until they learn to behave in a civilized and ADULT manner!

    MOVE ON !

He's an MP does that not tell you anything?? As soon as his lips move nothing but evasive lies come out the hole beneath his nose.

I wish we could go back to the days when Politicians especially local councillors were local businessmen with an interest in doing good for the Town they were born and bred in. Not like the current University Graduates that have done NOTHING in their lives except believe the crap their Leaders preach and jump on the political bandwagon.

My Uncle was a Labour Councillor/Alderman/Mayor in an East London Council, Redbridge. He had his own business he lived in the Borough had a business in the Borough and took up the challenge for purely being able to try and improve peoples lives NOT make a living out of it. Oh and by the way his business was a shop so it was hardly given privilege by him being a Councillor as it was a Barbers and if his haircuts were crap no one would use it. But he got a hell of a lot of information about what the people thought and had concerns about from his customers and did something about it.

The majority of people in politics today are idealogical clones with no worldly experience and very little grasp of the effect their ideals have on the lives of the people they represent.

You cannot get away from facts though Dav, as much as you try to with such antics... it was funded by Sefton Safer Communities Partnership and that is nothing at all to do with your "rose".
