The following alert has been issued by the Met Office, warning of potential disruption due to snow and ice.
"Icy stretches are likely to form in places leading to slippery conditions and perhaps some disruption to travel. Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces. Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths."
Please follow the Coronavirus 'Stay At Home' instruction unless you have to leave home for one of the exception reasons. This will help reduce the risk from falls and collisions in the poor weather conditions as well. Icy roads and pavements look set to be with us for a while
BE MINDFUL OF 'FROSTJACKING'
Never try to de-frost your car by leaving the engine running. Lives have been lost, trying to stop thieves from stealing cars in this manner. Do all the scraping and de-icing that you need to do before getting into your car and ensure all your windows are clear before setting off.
