Mindless vandals have pushed over some of the recently installed plant pots in Chapel Street and Tulketh Street.
The pots have been funded by the Southport BID .
Anyone with information as to who did this is asked to call Merseyside Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

I thought that there were cameras all around town centre with someone in Bootle watching screens and seeing what was going on. The idea being that Police can be alerted to crimes being committed. The perpetrators should be birched , oh we can’t do that it might hurt them.

I'm not excusing the morons who did this, but installing large plastic tubs that are apparently not secured to the ground is pretty mindless as well.
Unfortunately, the first consideration with street furniture these days is to make it as vandal-proof as possible, a sad sign of the times.

The cameras are to monitor traffic at major junctions so there's none monitoring pedestrianised areas unless any shops CCTV picks it up.

Again, not excusing the morons who did this, but, if those large pots had been filled with soil, it would take a fork truck to turn them over. Quarter full, if that, as they look to be, was an open invitation to the mentally challenged of this town to play.

Problem is, there are no police patrols anymore as there have been savage cuts to police funding by ALL govermments .
And young feral groups roam the streets!

Wonder at times just how a relatively small seaside town appears to have more than it's fair share of brain dead zombies.

It only takes a very small number of them to cause chaos when they know they will get away with it.
