An Ormskirk man has spoken of his delight finding an L driver waiting for him after a minor accident at Morrisons, Southport.
He's been there shopping with his wife for over an hour and returned to his car to find a young man waiting for him.
The 17-year-old - who'd just passed his test - admitted scraping his Astra as he tried to find a parking place ... but instead of an undecipherable scribbled note he'd rang his mum who advised him to 'fess up.
"When he told me what had happened my first reaction was to shake him by the hand and thank him for his honesty," said the shopper who's asked not to be named.
But there was bad news in store after the man took his car to be estimated for a respray to its flanks; the insurance company have written it off for want of a £500 paint job.
