Officers from Merseyside Police are patrolling around Birkdale this morning stopping and searching anybody who looks suspicious.
A group of scruffy looking individuals were stopped in Sefton Street and searched for drugs and knives.
it is not known if anything was found.

Agreed but there needs to be a police presence in the evenings too - even if they are simply patrolling in cars. It's like a ghost town in the town centre some nights and the perfect climate for the constant window smashers.

As well as the idiots on their motorbikes who treat Eastbank St like it’s the finishing straight of a TT race.

Bet one of those stopped was from an address where I picked up from, took them in a Private Hire vehicle to the BP garage on SNR to withdraw some cash from the ATM machine, then went over to Hawkeshead St and St Lukes Rd corner,to pick up their supplies of dxxxs, then carried on to Jo Kelly's for their booze, and then returned back to Sefton Street.....Where ALL 4 passengers got out,and I did NOT get paid the £14.50 fare for the journey. The Police were called, but were too busy at that time, but went to the address in the morning, and got NO answer from any of the residents.
Still awaiting the fare from them,as the phone number used at the address is blacklisted.
