The club can confirm that striker Jason Gilchrist has completed a permanent transfer to South Shields.
Jason, who joined Southport from FC United of Manchester in November 2017, has signed for the BetVictor Northern Premier League side today.
The 24-year-old leaves having scored 19 league goals for the Port, including hat-tricks against Tamworth and Gainsborough Trinity in the 2017/18 season.
Jason also represented England C during his time with Southport and spent the final part of last season on loan at Stockport County.
The club would like to thank Jason for his services while representing the Port. We wish him all the best during his time at South Shields and in his future career.
