Drove through Bootle and Litherland last week quite a bit of new reasonable housing springing up, wonder who financed that?

Could be private, but who knows, could be the rate payers of Southport!

Sefton hasn't had any council housing for years.

You're question makes no sense in the context of the comments I made in response to someone else.

They have to fill the huge funding hole Tory government created for them. I don't know why people cannot get that around their think heads.

Nothing changes does it Southport is the cash cow for Bootle.

Before the Bootillian spokesman comes on about Southport having Bootles Art Treasures give them back they are probably fake anyway.
The same person prospered from the reorganisation, his salary was considerably increased (to take account of the extra responsibilities) . Prior to the almganation, the vast reserves which Southport CBC held were, shall we say, not spent in the best manner. It was to ensure that the least amount was taken into the new authority, Sefton. Did they foresee something that wouldn't be to Southport's advantage?

I am trying to get my "think" head round the suggestion we should have just carried on spending at the same rate after the Banking Crisis ?

Sounds like Wonganomics to me or bequeathing credit card debts to your children.

Don't make things up, Sefton aren't building houses in Bootle. There are lots of housing being built in Southport but you don't mention that being financed by the people of Bootle.

So you don’t know the answer either, and are purely speculating? Another idiotic post from you then.

The explosion in spending during the Banking Crisis was a one off to bail out the banks (which I opposed, they should have let them go bust), the cuts that followed were driven by Political Dogma as is this current boom in alleged spending by a Government trying to curry favour with the Electorate, if / when it actually happens they will have to explain the implications and conditions of it. Nobody has said what the implications of HS2 are, it is just Sunshine & Roses, Beware of Greeks bearing gifts.

‘(which I opposed, they should have let them go bust),’
As well as bringing criminal prosecutions against the greedy individuals responsible.

I would prefer that as would the majority of people in this town that the Scouse Council spend some money in the town rather than syphon it of to Bootle and all points North.

So the money spent on the pier, the promenade, The theatre, the swimming baths and so many other places are all figments of your imagination.
